All the activities of the two days are offered by the companies and associations involved for free!
The Regional Unit of Pieria and the Pieria Organization for Tourism Development and Promotion (POTAP), under the auspices of the Hellenic Tourism Organization and with the supervision of OPEN WAYS Events & Travel, are organizing on May 25 and 26, 2024 the 1st “Olympus Adrenaline & Nature Festival”.
The ‘Olympus Adrenaline & Nature Festival’ aims to connect the coastline of Pieria, Mount Olympus, Pieria itself, nature, culture, and activities into an annual celebration. Throughout this multifaceted festival, parallel outdoor activities will take place both at the central festival venue in Litochoro and throughout Pieria, offered by professionals who aim to provide unique experiential opportunities.
The purpose of the festival is to showcase Pieria’s businesses, organizations, and groups, but primarily to promote all outdoor activities that can take place in the area, inform visitors, and increase tourist influx. Interested individuals will have the opportunity to learn directly from the businesses, engage with experts, participate in experiential activities, and taste new flavors with locally produced and internationally awarded goods.
Pieria, a place with rich cultural heritage and natural beauty, with breathtaking landscape variations, becomes ideal for hosting such events. On one hand, Mount Olympus, the mythical mountain, and on the other hand, kilometers of coastline and the azure sea create the perfect conditions for a variety of outdoor activities in the region, which everyone can discover and enjoy through this festival.

A first aid session to gain the necessary knowledge and skills to deal emergencies with confident and effectiveness. During this session, we will learn the basics of first aid, in order to be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to deal with any emergency situation confidently and effectively. Learn to save a life with your own hands.
In this workshop, we will explore the invaluable benefits that bees provide to humans, from precious honey to essential plant pollination. In addition, we will discuss the appropriate equipment needed to care of bees and how to use it. Finally, we will look at the vital importance of hives for the well-being and development of healthy bee communities, providing a safe and welcoming environment for their development and the production of their fine product.
The trails and signage of the Olympus National Park are an important pillar of the visitor's experience in the area. Visitors will be briefed on the national register, which shows the signs and signage that are being used. The "Naturalist Association of Litochoro OLYMPOS", contributes to the maintenance and improvement of the trails, as well as to the promotion of the area. Visitors will learn about the signs and marking of the trails so that they can safely enjoy exploring the unique ecosystem of the National Park of Olympus.
The Hellenic Rescue Team offers valuable knowledge and training on first aid and the dangers that visitors may encounter while hiking in the mountains. This team, with its expertise, promotes the safe practice of mountaineering and provides participants with tools. in order to deal with potential risks, such as injuries or unexpected health conditions. The contribution of the Hellenic Rescue Team is crucial to promoting safe and responsible behaviour in the mountains, enhancing the experience and safety of climbers and visitors.
Daypack and Multi-Day Mountain Backpack-What to include
Cooking the traditional greek pie . During this demonstration, we invite participants to learn the traditional recipe of greek pie. Under the guidance of the Vlachs Association of Katerini "Agia Triada", participants will become familiar with the techniques and secrets needed to create a perfect pie. From how to prepare the dough to how to roll it out, this experience will be an opportunity to explore the tradition and taste of pie in all its glory. We will have the opportunity to watch traditional dances of the region and learn their steps and movements. The dance, rhythm and energy will stir us into a unique experience for all those who love our tradition and culture.

The Youth Orchestra of Dios completes 15 years of life this year. Fifteen years full of musical experiences and musical journeys from all over Greece and abroad. Concerts at the Mousic Halls, in Ancient Theatres, in Music Salons, in Music Festivals, in Archaeological Museums. Unique musical encounters with great composers, great performers and remarkable musical creators. It´s journey has no end, on the 25th of May, she stops in our own picturesque Litochoro. Twenty talented musicians on stage, with Dimitra Antonakoudi, Alexis Eliades, Chrysanthi Evaggelopoulou, Lefteris Bouklas and Thomas Hatzinas at the microphones, will perform well-known musical hits of great composers. Information about the hiking trail that connects the 12 most famous organized mountain shelters and emergency shelters of Mount Olympus on a path that crosses the top of Mytikas and goes around its mountain mass. Following well-established hiking trails, this trip starts and ends at the Bountolas shelter, located above Litochoro, and passes both the organized shelters and the more inaccessible emergency shelters (Koromilia, Petrostruga, Krevatia, Apostolidis, Kakkalos, Agapitos, Laka, Christakis, Salatoura, Agios Antonios, Migotzidis and Livadaki).

"""If you don't do it yourself, no one else will"" seems to be the phrase that motivated the Ecogenia initiative to organise and educate young people on environmental protection and sustainable development. Ecogenia is a non-profit organization with a mission to mobilize youth to accelerate climate action at the local level through the community service model. They are active in the Olympus region and have taken action by taking care of and cleaning the trails in the area. "

This talk focuses on the important topic of nutrition during our stay in mountain environments. We analyze the impact of food choice on athlete performance and safety, and make practical recommendations for effective food selection and preparation during climbing, hiking, mountaineering and downhill skiing. In addition, we explore the factors that influence nutrition at high altitudes and suggest strategies to ensure energy and health during this demanding sporting endeavor.

A 20 minute ride to Litochoro by electric bike, an excellent opportunity to explore the beautiful area quickly and pleasantly. Starting from the town centre, we will tour the small streets and narrow apartments of the traditional village. The 20-minute electric bike ride to Litochoro will be an unforgettable experience that will allow us to exercise while exploring the nature and culture of the area.

The sense of touch, the first form of communication we learn as infants, begins to take on greater importance. From the Neolithic era until today, man has had to manufacture utilitarian ceramic objects to meet his daily needs. With this activity, you will have the opportunity to watch how a ceramic object can be made with the help of the wheel. Also, you will watch techniques of making various utilitarian small and large objects while at the same time, you will be informed about historical facts of ceramic objects manufacturing from the Neolithic to modern times.
Zip Line for kids and adults! Live an exciting zip line experience, suitable for children over 12 years old and adults! The zip line is a popular outdoor activity , usually placed high above the ground and extending from one point to another. Acroyoga is a ground activity with two or more people that combines the flexibility of yoga with the energy and power of acrobats. Through collaboration, trust and timing, a sequence of movements is created in a flow that engages the viewers. This presentation promises to deliver an unforgettable experience by combining seamless technique and explosive dynamics into a harmonious whole. A highly playful practice to get in touch with Acroyoga, an activity that combines elements of yoga and acrobatic gymnastics. A practice aimed at people who want to discover their acrobatic skills through teamwork and collaboration. An alternative way of empowerment to learn to have total control of the body in a creative, artistic and fun way based on strength, flexibility and balance. This time, participants are challenged to understand the topography of the environment and make decisions quickly as they progress through the race in Litochoro Central Park. Orienteering promotes physical and mental stamina, decision making and teamwork making it an exciting activity that everyone can take part in. Location.

Participants are invited to a Yoga practice for all levels, regardless of experience, under the guidance of Maria Skyvalaki. Having our individual mat and comfortable clothes, we will come into connection with our breath and our physical body. We will see how we can calm our nervous system through breathing techniques, we will experience how we can stretch and tone our muscular system and how with kindness and love we can give movement to our joints and spine. We will experience the ultimate in physical and mental well-being. A practice that can be used after the end of a hike or an intense activity.

The Greek area has a huge tradition in the manufacture of ceramic pottery. Since ancient times, man has stored his food in ceramic pots. Nowadays, large ceramic pots (pithari) are mainly used for decorative purposes but also for utilitarian purposes such as storing wine for fermentation and maturation. In this activity you will have the opportunity to watch the construction of a large ceramic pot (pithari) by the virtuoso and experienced ceramist, Ioannis Stangidis.

As we walk alongside the stream, we will enjoy a relaxing experience in nature, enjoying the serenity and beauty of the landscape. Participants will be offered trouvades with local produce to carry home the flavors and aromas of Pieria.

As part of the Olympus Adrenaline Nature & Festival, Entopia Project (an alternative tourism and outdoor activities company for small groups of up to 8 people) will organize a short hike of about 2 hours starting from the Old Monastery of Agios Dionysios to the waterfall of Enipeas and the cave of Agios Dionysios. During the hike we will talk about the correct use of the hiking baton, the correct body position, we will say some things about survival in the mountain as well as about the history of the monastery and Enipeas. At the end we will experience cooking in nature and return to Litochoro.

Guided tour of the I Olympus National Park Information Center. There we will experience a "virtual climb" from the foothills of Olympus to the highest peaks of the highest mountain in Greece. The Panhellenic Federation of Sarakatsanaion and the Association of Sarakatsanaion of Pieria for the first time will make a symbolic ascent to Mount Olympus. ON SUNDAY 26 MAY 2024 and time 10.30 in the morning. Starting point is Agios Konstantinos near the stream Orlia and finishing point is the plateau at Koromilia.The aim of this action is to: - To highlight the historical relationship of the Sarakatsanaeans with the mountains and forests of our country, - to record our sensitivity to nature and the forest, - send a message to society and the state that we are also the guardians of forest protection. That is why we invite you as fellow travellers to walk the uphill paths, seeing the beauties of nature! At the end we will set up a tent or ciatura, the elders will welcome the walkers with food, there will be an exchange of views on the protection of the forests and at the end a resolution will be passed to the local authorities. Families with children 12 years and older can participate in our action.
