1st day
Arrival at Thessaloniki airport “Macedonia” – Pieria
Arrival in Thessaloniki, the capital of Northern Greece. The journey to biblical Greece begins! Reception at “Macedonia” airport and transfer to Katerini Beach, Pieria. Check-in at the five-star beachfront hotel “Mediterranean Village Hotel & Spa 5*”. Free time, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2
Philippi – Kavala
Breakfast and departure via the Egnatia road to Philippi, where Aphrodite A. After breakfast and departure to Filippi, where Paul (Acts 16:12-40, 20:6) was preaching. Visit to the river where Lydia, the first European Christian woman, was baptized. Guided tour of the archaeological site of Philippi, the most important city of eastern Macedonia – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There, there is the prison of Paul and Silas, the market, the complex of the “octagon”, the theatre. We continue to Kavala, the ancient port of Neapolis, a modern and picturesque city. Return to Pieria in the late afternoon, dinner and overnight.
Day 3
Thessaloniki
Breakfast and departure for Thessaloniki where we start the tour from Eptapyrgio, the walls of the old city. In the city center, we visit unique early Christian and Byzantine churches of great historical importance, such as the Acheriopitos (5th century) and the 7th century church of Agia Sophia of God, which is believed to have been built on the ruins of an early Christian basilica. Guided tour of Agios Dimitrios, Rotunda, the Archaeological Museum and the White Tower. Free time in the city for walking and shopping. Return to Pieria in late afternoon, dinner and overnight.
Day 4
Pella – Veria – Vergina (Aigai)
Breakfast and departure for Pella, the ancient capital of Macedonia, birthplace of Philip II and Alexander the Great. We visit the great palace complex, the largest market of the ancient world, the amazing 4th century BC mosaics and the museum. Transfer to Veria (Acts 17: 10-15). Visit to the Apostle Paul’s Step, the Jewish quarter and synagogue. Next stop is Vergina, the first capital of the Macedonians, where the tomb of Philip II, father of Alexander the Great, is located. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5
Dion – Olympus
Breakfast and transfer to the archaeological site of Dion, the holy city of the ancient Macedonians. After visiting the museum we depart for Litochoro, located at the foot of Mount Olympus. Visit to the Monastery of Agios Dionysius en Olympus. Free time in Litochoro and hike to Mount Olympus. Return to the hotel in the afternoon, dinner and overnight.
6th day
Meteora – Kalambaka
Breakfast and departure for Meteora, one of the most important monuments of the world, protected by UNESCO, and the most remarkable, after Mount Athos, monastic center in Greece.
Return to Pieria in the afternoon, free time, dinner and overnight.
Day 7
Thessaloniki – departure from “Macedonia” airport
A unique journey to the biblical places of Greece is completed. After breakfast, transfer to the airport “Macedonia” of Thessaloniki.
