Pieria Winemakers Empowerment Event
A Two-Day Initiative of Knowledge, Networking & Extroversion
In May 2025, Pieriki Anaptyxiaki S.A., within the framework of the TAPToK / CLLD – LEADER Pieria program, organized the Pieria Winemakers Empowerment Event, with the organizational management of Open Ways Events & Travel.
This initiative aimed to strengthen the skills, extroversion, and networking of Pieria’s winemakers through a program that combined academic expertise, professional insights, and meaningful opportunities for collaboration and exposure.
The conference held on Monday, May 26, at the Mediterranean Village Hotel & Spa, formed the core of the two-day event, attracting distinguished participants from the academic, business, and media sectors of wine and gastronomy. The event was coordinated by journalist Lefteris Plakidas, founder of Carpe Vinum, who played a key role in shaping the program’s dynamic flow and connecting local producers with leading professionals of the industry.
Among the distinguished speakers were:
- Professor Stefanos Koundouras, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Viticulture),
- Professor Yorgos Kotseridis, Agricultural University of Athens (Oenology),
- Anestis Haitidis, wine exporter and consultant,
- George Kanopoulos, owner of the “Warehouse” wine bars in Athens,
- and Dimitris Spyridakos, Popi Wallick, and Lefteris Plakidas, who discussed communication strategies, storytelling, and digital promotion in the wine industry.
The conference also featured a wine-tasting session with 12 wineries from Pieria, attended by sommeliers, journalists, and hospitality professionals from across Greece — an inspiring showcase of the region’s oenological potential and craftsmanship.
On Tuesday, May 27, the invited speakers and professionals visited local wineries and vineyards, meeting the producers, learning their stories, and exploring firsthand the land and passion behind Pieria’s wines. These experiential visits fostered closer relationships and enhanced appreciation for the authenticity and quality of the region’s wine production.
The Pieria Winemakers Empowerment Event was a significant investment in knowledge, collaboration, and visibility, reaffirming that Pieria holds all the elements needed to become a point of reference on Greece’s wine and gastronomy map.
Open Ways Events & Travel had the honor of undertaking the full organizational coordination of the event, ensuring its successful implementation and contributing to an initiative that inspires, connects, and promotes sustainable regional development through cooperation and innovation.

The White Night of Thermaikos 2025 – A luminous celebration that filled Peraia with life and energy
On Saturday, May 17th 2025, Peraia was transformed into a vast open-air festival as it hosted the 4th White Night of Thermaikos. Thousands of residents and visitors flooded the coastal promenade, the streets and squares of the town, taking part in a celebration that once again proved how culture, local business and collaboration can create something truly special.
This year’s White Night offered a complete experience for all ages, featuring dozens of activities in entertainment, culture, gastronomy and creativity. From themed workshops and children’s festivals to business and association booths, the public’s interest remained constant throughout the evening. The streets of Peraia were filled with lights, music and smiles, while the local stores stayed open late with special offers, giving a strong boost to the local market and economy.
At the heart of the event stood the Main Stage, hosted by Angelos Kalfas, presenting a spectacular music program that set the tone for the night. The crowd enjoyed the vibrant DJ Set, the energetic opening act by Anny, and of course, the main live concert by Ilias Kampakakis, who carried the audience away on a journey full of rhythm, emotion and excitement.
As Open Ways Events & Travel, we had the honor and responsibility to oversee the complete planning, coordination and execution of the event, ensuring flawless organization and consistency in every detail. With professionalism, creativity and experience, we designed a celebration that successfully combined culture, entertainment and the promotion of local entrepreneurship.
This year’s White Night also highlighted the values of accessibility and sustainability. A special vehicle was available for the transport of people with disabilities, while printed materials were replaced with digital information channels, making the event both modern and environmentally conscious — a true reflection of a community that evolves responsibly.
The event was co-organized by the Professional & Commercial Association of Thermaikos, the Municipality of Thermaikos and the Region of Central Macedonia, with the valuable support of the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce.
We warmly thank all those who contributed to the success of this celebration — the local professionals and entrepreneurs, the cultural and sports associations, the volunteers and support teams — whose enthusiasm and dedication brought this vibrant night to life.
The White Night of Thermaikos has now become an institution. For us at Open Ways Events & Travel, it stands as yet another example of how vision, teamwork and passion can illuminate an entire city — creating experiences that inspire, connect and last in memory.

A Magical Full Moon Night with Sonia Theodoridou in Mykonos
Under the enchanting light of the August full moon, Mykonos experienced on Saturday, August 9, 2025, an unforgettable musical evening with the internationally acclaimed soprano Sonia Theodoridou and the Sonus Amantes orchestra.
The event, titled “Mare Nostrum – Mediterranean Melodies”, was originally planned to take place on the sacred island of Delos. However, due to strong winds, it was successfully hosted at the Lakka Theater, offering the audience a night of exceptional artistic quality and profound emotion.
The concert presented a musical journey across the coasts of the Mediterranean, featuring songs that weave together the sounds, emotions, and passions of its peoples. Sonia Theodoridou’s captivating voice and heartfelt interpretation created an atmosphere that felt more like a spiritual experience than a simple performance.
She was joined on stage by the Sonus Amantes orchestra, the female vocal ensemble Polymnia, and the Panthechnon Contemporary Dance Group led by Nikol Syrianou, in a performance that harmoniously blended music and movement.
The event was organized in collaboration with the Hellenic Ministry of Culture, the Ephorate of Antiquities of the Cyclades, and the Municipality of Mykonos, with production and coordination by Open Ways Events & Travel.
The warm response of the audience and the emotional atmosphere throughout the evening once again confirmed that Mykonos remains a true meeting point of art, history, and culture.

A great celebration of the land, the taste, and the people of Pieria took place on September 19–21, 2025, in Karitsa, organized by the Municipality of Dion-Olympos, with co-organizers the Regional Unit of Pieria and the Pierian Organization for Tourism Development and Promotion, and coordinated by Open Ways Events & Travel.
The milestone 20th Farmers & Breeders Festival and the 3rd Olympus Food Paths, dedicated this year to the kiwifruit, combined the primary sector with gastronomy, tradition, and culture—creating a three-day event full of activities, flavors, and experiences.
Land and Taste in the Spotlight.
The festival opened on Friday, September 19, with the traditional picnic in the municipality’s kiwifruit orchard, attended by students from local schools. Exhibition, Music, and Tradition.

The festival was enriched with musical and cultural performances, featuring local cultural associations and music groups from Pieria, offering audiences two evenings filled with music, dance, and color.
Community Participation.
The strong participation of students, exhibitors, and associations, along with the high turnout of visitors from across Pieria and the wider region, highlighted the importance of these two long-standing events as pillars for promoting the primary sector, local gastronomy, and culture.
The event was held in collaboration with the Directorate of Primary Education of Pieria, aiming to educate and raise awareness among young people about nutrition, agricultural production, and sustainable development.

A highly successful and emotionally charged evening took place at the Athens Concert Hall, where internationally acclaimed soprano Sonia Theodoridou performed in a truly exceptional concert. A night of refined aesthetics, deep emotion and Mediterranean musical memories.
The event was curated and organised by Open Ways Events & Travel.
The musical performance “Mare Nostrum – Songs from the Blessed Sea” transported the audience from Arabic scales to Spanish cantilenas, and from Greek laments to Italian tarantellas — melodies and songs that unite peoples and cultures across the Mediterranean.

She was joined by the Ensemble Sonus Amantes, the Cantelena Choir under the direction of Ms. Eleni Papadopoulou, and the women’s vocal ensemble Polymnia, conducted by Ms. Theodoridou herself.
As the artist beautifully notes:
“Shining songs, bathed in the sunlight and the silver glow of the moon… melodies infused with the salt of the sea, melodies that touch our soul. This is the Mediterranean — our sea.”
