Pieria beats to the rhythm of nature, adventure, and authentic experience
The heart of Pieria pulsed once again with excitement during the 2nd Olympus Adrenaline & Nature Festival — an event that brings together nature, adventure, culture, and experiential tourism, showcasing Mount Olympus and the entire region as a top destination for authentic outdoor experiences.
The festival took place on October 4, 5 & 6, 2025, organized by the Regional Unit of Pieria, the Pierian Organization for Tourism Development and Promotion (P.O.T.A.P.), and the Municipality of Dion-Olympos, under the Auspices of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), with the coordination and organization by Open Ways Events & Travel.
A celebration that is becoming a tradition
After its successful debut in 2024, the Olympus Adrenaline & Nature Festival has evolved into an annual institution, bringing together organizations, associations, businesses, producers, and visitors from across Greece and abroad. Its mission is to highlight Pieria as a meeting point for alternative tourism, outdoor activity, wellness, and authentic experience.
Throughout the weekend, dozens of activities unfolded in the Municipal Park of Litochoro and across the wider region of Pieria — from hiking, climbing, and cycling, to gastronomic workshops, cultural events, and experiential programs that connected visitors with nature and local life.
An opening full of inspiration and emotion
The Opening Ceremony, held on Saturday, October 4th, marked a special moment for this year’s edition.
Minister of Tourism Olga Kefalogianni honored the event with her presence, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives for the promotion of experiential and thematic tourism in Greece.
She was welcomed by the festival’s organizers: Deputy Regional Governor of Pieria Sofia Mavridou, Mayor of Dion-Olympos Vangelis Geroliolios, and President of P.O.T.A.P. Giorgos Karalis.
The evening concluded with a moving concert by world-renowned soprano Sonia Theodoridou and the Polytonic Orchestra of Katerini, titled “The Earth Sings to Olympus” — a performance where music, nature, and the spirit of Olympus became one.
Days filled with action and discovery
On Sunday, the festival transformed into a vibrant stage of outdoor action and exploration.
Participants of all ages joined in various activities that captured the essence of adrenaline and the natural beauty of Pieria.
Monday was dedicated to local schools, giving the festival an educational and experiential character. Students participated in specially designed programs that brought them closer to nature, culture, and sustainability values.
A festival of cooperation and openness
The Olympus Adrenaline & Nature Festival each year highlights the power of collaboration among institutions, local authorities, associations, and professionals. All activities were free of charge, thanks to the contribution and support of the region’s stakeholders and participants.
Deputy Regional Governor of Pieria Sofia Mavridou stated:
“The Olympus Adrenaline & Nature Festival has proven that Pieria can take a leading role in experiential and alternative tourism. Through cooperation and innovation, we create experiences that enhance the identity and international appeal of our region.”
An experience to remember
Journalist Christos Nezos, who presented the Opening Ceremony, brought his signature energy and charisma to the event, contributing to its warm atmosphere while also promoting the festival through national television coverage.
Thousands of visitors enjoyed three days filled with music, energy, smiles, and creativity — proving once again that Pieria and Mount Olympus can perfectly combine myth with modern experience.
The 2nd Olympus Adrenaline & Nature Festival concluded with great success, leaving a strong legacy for the future and confirming that Pieria and Olympus stand out as key destinations for alternative and experiential tourism in Greece.
