Countdown for the 8th International Triathlon and Open Water Swimming Race

PRESS RELEASE Saturday 07 and Sunday 08 May, at Katerini Beach   Countdown for the 8th “almiraMAN” International Triathlon and Open Water Swimming Race   The time is counting down for the start of the 8th “almiraMAN 2022” – International Triathlon and Open Water Swimming Race -, which is being held at Paralia Katerini, by APS TRIAS in cooperation with the Municipality of Katerini, OPPAP and the Regional Unity of Pieria, under the auspices of the Holy Metropolis of Kitiros, Katerini and Platamonos. Over 500 athletes from all over the world and thousands of visitors will be welcomed by the hospitable Katerini Beach this weekend, 7 & 8 May. The races will be held on the shores of the “Mediterranean Village 5* Hotel & Spa”, on roads closed to vehicular traffic. The race includes two race distances. There will be live coverage of the races by livecoverage.gr       The race includes two race distances: almira FAST (750m swimming – 20 km cycling – 5km running) and almiraMAN (1.9km swimming – 90 km cycling – 21km running) for individual and team entries. There will be live coverage of the races by livecoverage.gr     There will also be an exhibition and parallel events, such as children’s races and activities, making this event a great celebration of sport with the participation of all ages. The #almiraMAN is a Triathlon race which has been held with great success since 2014 and attracts both domestic and international participants. It is a highly challenging event that started from the love and passion of some people for sports. It takes place on the beach of Katerini with a view of the Thermaikos Gulf and the imposing Olympus dominating the landscape.

JULY 2021 – In Pieria the Intercollegiate Team Chess Games of the Qualifying Group A’ National of Central-Western Macedonia

We welcome in Olympus Riviera – Pieria the organization of the Intercollegiate Team Chess Games of the Qualifying Group A’ National of Central-Western Macedonia. The games will take place on July 10 and 11, 2021, in Katerini Beach at the hotel “Mediterranean Village Hotel and Spa 5*” with the participation of chess players from all the Regional Units of Central and Western Macedonia. The director of the games is the President of the Union of Chess Clubs of Central and Western Macedonia (ESSKEDYM) Efstathios Theofylaktidis, while the referees will be appointed by the Chess Club of Katerini headed by the President Stefanos Vardakas. In 10 chessboards will compete in the categories of women, junior women, girls, men – women, children – girls. The champion team advances to the 2020 A’ National Championship. The championship will be played with a Swiss system of 5 rounds. Cups will be awarded to the top 3 teams in the standings.   Competition Schedule The competition schedule is as follows: Week 1 – Saturday 10/07/2021 – 17:00 (Mediterranean Village Spa Katerini) 2nd round – Sunday 11/07/2021 – 10:00 (Mediterranean Village Spa Katerini) Round 3 – Sunday 11/07/2021 – 17:00 (Mediterranean Village Spa Katerini) Round 4 – Saturday 17/07/2021 – 10:00 (Ptolemaida – Pantelidis) Round 5 – Saturday 17/07/2021 – 17:00 (Ptolemaida – Pantelidis) Health Protocols All participants in the races and those present inside the venue must have had a RapidTest or have proof of vaccination completion up to 15 days prior to their participation in the specific race. Inside the hall and during the matches, the health protocols of the ESO and the GGA apply (use of masks, antiseptics on hands, distances between players, etc.).
